THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates and supports the holding of the international music event “Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023” which will present a line-up of international and local jazz musicians so that it can be an attraction for both foreign and domestic tourists to visit.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, Monday (5/22), 2023, the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2023 event is targeted to attract audiences across generations so that it is expected to be able to encourage efforts to achieve the target of 8.5 million foreign tourists and 1.4 million foreign tourists domestic tourist movements this year.
“The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that an event like this can spread hope and enthusiasm which can be used as a momentum for the revival of tourism and the creative economy in Indonesia. Encouraging economic revival and creating jobs,” said Sandiaga Uno.
Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023 will take place on 2-4 June 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Rows of musicians ranging from Cory Wong, MAX, Stephen Sanchez, and Chicago Experience ft Danny Seraphine & Jess Coffey to Joey Alexander, Vina Panduwinata, Fariz RM, Mus Mujiono, Deddy Dhukun, Jamie Aditya, and others are ready to fill the 12 stages over the three days of the event going on.
“Our preparation is now 80% because next week foreign artists will start to attend,” said Main Director of Java Festival Production, Dewi Gontha.
Meanwhile, the Java Festival Production Program Division, Nikita Dompas, explained that there would be many interesting presentations including several special treats in the form of collaborations between international musicians and local musicians.
“Collaboration is the DNA of the Java Jazz Festival, that’s why we always present collaborations with international and local musicians,” said Nikita.
Director of National and International Events for the Ministry of Tourism, Dessy Ruhati, said the Ministry of Tourism provided event support in the form of collaboration and facilitation in carrying out the process of facilitating permits and supporting publication and promotion amplification.
“We hope that with no community activities restrictions (PPKM) anymore, spectators can buy tickets and increase compared to the previous year. Organizers also pay attention to various aspects, especially related to security, risk management and crowd management so that the comfort and safety of spectators is a main concern,” Dessy concluded.
