THOSE wanting the best deals on flights from Indonesia can check ticket prices to their destination four to six months before departure as prices average lowest 149 days before departure, according to historical price data from Google Flights or Google Flights.
According to Communication Manager of Google Indonesia, Feliciana Wienathan through her written statement said Google Flights can help people track prices for certain dates between two cities.
“People just need to search for their destination and enable this feature. Google will send you an email if the price drops dramatically for that date. Maybe there’s a place you’ve been meaning to visit and you’re just looking for the best deals. In principle, you should always plan and book your trip in advance!” said Feliciana.
Furthermore, those who are going to travel are advised to try virtual exploring the intended location first. People can take advantage of Street View on Google Maps. According to Google, with at least 220 billion images from more than 100 countries and territories, Street View has a collection of the most places you want to visit.
Then, when wanting to decide where to stay, potential travelers can search for hotels on Google or go directly to google.com/travel. Featuring a new layer of interests in Maps, one can quickly see which areas have the most options for dining, shopping or sightseeing.
For more popular destinations, one can tap on ‘Places to stay’ under the search filters for a handy location guide. Then, when they are at their destination, and don’t know where to go, someone can use the Explore Feature to search for locations around the world with filters such as budget or trip length.
In its default view, Explore would show airfare prices, but now people will also see a pink dot and a bubble that says ‘Explore nearby’. Tap this feature to narrow your search to places you can visit within a few hours and select any destination to see helpful information about it, including average hotel prices or weather forecasts.
Then, when traveling around tourists can find the best route for pedestrians with Live View. When using Live View in Maps, travelers will see AR arrows directing them to their destination. They can also use Live View inside buildings to explore places like airports, perhaps when looking for a baggage claim area or car rental location.
Once logged out, they can search with Live View to find things nearby like restaurants, parks, and transit stations and see helpful information like opening hours and ratings. If in doubt, Lens can help to take a picture or use a screenshot and add ‘nearby’ to find your favorite food or product from a local shop. [antaranews/photo special]
