FREE FROM BANKRUPTCY, SRIWIJAYA AIR WILL TAKE THE LIST ON STOCK EXCHANGE

SRIWIJAYA AIR is plan to immediately take the floor on the stock exchange alias IPO (initial public offering). This announcement was made after the trial for Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) for the airline ended peacefully.

According to Lead Restructuring Counsel and Attorney for Sriwijaya Air, Hamonangan Syahdan Hutabarat, said the plan to go public was one of the business plans contained in PKPU Sriwijaya Air’s peace proposal with creditors.

“Indeed, Sriwijaya Air’s initial intention was to be better than before PKPU. So, this sky wants to be filled with red and white blue (the airline’s distinctive colors). One of the business plans is to have an IPO,” he said in an official statement, quoted Thursday (7/7). 13), 2023.

Previously, the PKPU Sriwijaya Air voting process with these creditors had been carried out by the Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday (12/7) yesterday. As a result, the meeting decided that PKPU Sriwijaya Air ended peacefully, with 100% of separatist creditors agreeing to make peace, while 92% of concurrent creditors agreed to make peace.

“Sriwijaya Air’s total debt in this PKPU reaches IDR 7.3 trillion. However, the settlement of the debt has a different deadline for each creditor. Some are 8 years old, but the maximum is 15 years. That is for several creditors whose nature of the lessor’s bill is non-active, there are no engines, no planes because they have been withdrawn, that’s 15 years,” said Syahdan.

On the same occasion, Sriwijaya Air Financial Consultant from Triple B Advisory Noprian Fadli said that the restructuring carried out would improve the airline’s financial performance.

Noprian said that Sriwijaya’s financial burden would be reduced by up to 80%, or even more, over time and the company’s operations. There are also plans for new investors to enter the company.

“This is of course very good in the context of restoring Sriwijaya Air’s financial situation and being a kick start in developing Sriwijaya Air’s business to be better,” he concluded. [detik.com/photo special]
