GERMANY automotive company BMW, plans to launch several new four-wheeled vehicles this year, electric vehicles (EV) aka electric cars are expected to be in the line of new cars.
Met at the launch of the BMW X1 in Jakarta, Friday (7/28), 2023, BMW Group Indonesia Product Manager Anindyanto Dwikumoro even hinted that there would also be hybrid type cars, or a combination of the use of gasoline and electricity.
“Some are electric, some are half-assed (hybrid). These cars are BMW vehicles that have never been launched in Indonesia before. There are several other models that have never been launched in Indonesia either, just wait,” said Anindyanto.
On the same occasion, Director of Communications for BMW Group Indonesia Jodie O’tania confirmed that one of the vehicles to be launched this year was the BMW iX1, an SUV-type electric car that had already been launched in Malaysia.
“But, it is certain that the iX1 will be present in Indonesia. We hope that it will be presented this year and there will even be the launch of another new vehicle,” said O’tania.
O’tania said BMW would surprise the 2023 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which starts August 10-20. With the title “The Next Level of Luxury”, at the biggest automotive exhibition in Indonesia, BMW plans to present complete vehicles starting from series 8, 7, up to the X7.
“We will present all of them there and later there will also be one more star. Anyway, something surprising because we have never launched it before in Indonesia,” O’tania added. [antaranews/photo special]
