JAPAN AIRLINES BEST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD, SECOND SINGAPORE AIRLINES

JAPAN Airlines (JAL) is rated as the best airline in the world according to a study conducted by Bounce, a baggage storage company. JAL beat 51 other airlines analyzed in this study.

The assessment is based on the total number of departures in 2022. The company evaluates these airlines based on 10 factors, including on-time arrival, cancellation percentage, total number of flights, free carry-on baggage allowance, free domestic check-in allowance, free international check-in allowance, food, in-flight entertainment, seat comfort and staff service.

“Airline reliability can vary widely from company to company, as can the quality of comfort, service and onboard entertainment, all of which contribute to a great reclining experience,” writes Bounce on its website.

JAL is certified as a five-star airline by Skytrax. The Japanese airline has an average rating of seven out of 10 across 401 reviews on customer review site Skytrax.

One of the passengers who flew JAL in July said on customer review site Skytrax that the cabin crew were great and the food was really good. But another passenger who flew the airline’s business class in June said he was disappointed by the poor customer service and “tasteless food” served on board.

JAL has a total score of 8.28 out of 10 meanwhile Singapore Airlines (SIA), another airline from Asia, is ranked second. The airline has an average rating of seven out of 10 from 1,477 reviews on customer review site Skytrax.

One passenger who flew with SIA in August said he was very impressed with the service, in-flight entertainment and food served on board. Yet another passenger who flew with SIA in July said the airline never provided reimbursement for the mishandling of her lost luggage, although it agreed to refund part of the money.

Apart from JAL and SIA, other airlines that were rated the best were Qatar Airways, Korean Air, Vistara, All Nippon Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Air India, Azul Airlines and Emirates. [sources/photo special]
