THE subsidiary of BUMN Pertamina which does business in the property management sector, Patra Jasa, is collaborating with technology-based accommodation startup Bobobox to develop premium tourism potential in Parapat, Simalungun, North Sumatra.
This collaboration was outlined in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two regarding the opening of the newest Bobocabin Patra Parapat location. Bobocabin Patra Parapat will be built on land owned by Patra Jasa and is targeted to start operating at the end of 2023.
“In accordance with the Company’s commitment to synergize with strategic partners, Patra Jasa continues to strive to improve performance, add value and optimize asset productivity. We are very optimistic that this collaboration can increase tourist potential, especially in the Parapat area,” said the President Director of PT Patra Jasa Putut Ariwibowo in a release press received, Monday (9/18), 2023.
Through the collaboration which was inaugurated at the Patra Jasa Office Tower, Jakarta, Bobobox and Patra Jasa are committed to providing unique, high-quality accommodation options supported by modern technology amidst the natural charm of Lake Toba.
Patra Jasa plays a role in facilitating the availability of land and basic infrastructure, while Bobobox is responsible for land development and general accommodation operations.
This time, Bobocabin’s newest location is located in the middle of beautiful natural views of the hills on the shores of Lake Toba. Bobocabin Patra Parapat will be built in a location integrated with the Patra Parapat Hotel, allowing consumers to gain unique and exclusive access during their stay.
This newest Bobocabin will also feature 20 cabins with Deluxe and Executive types and offers direct access to the lake and exclusive recreation facilities for guests.
Likewise, the Director of Hospitality and Multi Services of PT Patra Jasa Ray S. M. Daulay said that the integration of Bobocabin with the Patra Parapat Hotel could open up wider potential for cooperation, such as the use of facilities, marketing or combined tour packages that are increasingly attractive to the public.
Currently, Patra Parapat Hotel has room facilities and meeting rooms that directly face Lake Toba, as well as boats that can take tourists to visit tourist areas around Lake Toba.
“We are confident that this collaboration can increase the attractiveness and selling value of the Patra Parapat tourist destination as a whole,” he said.
Director of Strategy and Business Development of PT Patra Jasa Evalina Sitepu explained the reasons behind choosing Bobobox as a strategic partner in managing assets with tourism potential, influenced by several aspects, such as innovation and the modular design of Bobocabin.
Bobobox’s experience in managing and promoting local tourist destinations over the last six years is considered proven to be able to increase the number of tourists in a number of areas.
“A transparent collaboration process and fast site construction supported by innovative technology is also one of the reasons we chose Bobobox to build Bobocabin with us in Parapat,” Evalina remarked.
Evalina also added that Bobobox is one of the startup companies collaborating with State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in efforts to improve the domestic tourism sector.
Meanwhile, Bobobox Co-Founder and CEO Indra Gunawan said that his party was very grateful to have the opportunity to work with Patra Jasa. He views this as a form of the company’s commitment to providing access to accommodation in international standard super priority (DSP) destination locations.
