SUPER AIR JET STARTS FIRST FLIGHT FROM PEKANBARU AIRPORT TO KUALA LUMPUR

SULTAN Syarif Kasim Airport (SSK) II Pekanbaru has added flight services to international routes to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This addition is in line with the start of operations of the Super Air Jet airline as of Tuesday (9/26), 2023.

According to Executive General Manager (EGM) of SSK II Pekanbaru Airport, Radityo Ari Purwoko, said that flights to Kuala Lumpur are available with a frequency every day. The aim is to provide greater flexibility for customers to plan trips abroad.

“Super Air Jet flights use Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 economy class seats,” said Radityo in a press release in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province.

The first flight started with flight number IU 190, departing from SSK II Pekanbaru Airport to Kuala Lumpur at 13.10 WIB. The airline carried 180 passengers.

The first Super Air Jet flight from Pekanbaru-Kuala Lumpur was marked by a procession of garlanding five passengers before boarding. Radityo hopes that the addition of flight options from Pekanbaru to Kuala Lumpur can have an impact on international connectivity to and from Pekanbaru.

“I hope that this inaugural flight will open the door to more business and tourism opportunities between the two countries, as well as increase global connectivity for the city of Kuala Lumpur,” said Radityo.

According to him, after leaving for Kuala Lumpur, the Super Air Jet with flight number IU 191 landed again at SSK II Pekanbaru Airport at 15.10 WIB. The plane was carrying 74 passengers.

“On this occasion, as usual, ramps and slings were given to the pilot, copilot and flight crew of the SSK II Pekanbaru Airport management, and also from ASITA,” concluded Radityo. [sources/photo special]
