CITILINK AIRLINE MAKES FIRST FLIGHT ON LOMBOK TO BIMA ROUTE, ROUND TRIP

CITILINK airline has opened a flight route from Zainuddin Abdul Madjid (Bizam) International Airport, Central Lombok to Sultan Salahuddin Bima Airport, West Nusa Tenggara, (NTB) round trip.

Citilink said the first flight on this route would be on Saturday 7 October 2023, attended by Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman accompanied by his wife, Idayati and Acting Governor of NTB Lalu Gita Ariadi from Bizam to Sultan Salahuddin Bima Airport.

According to Acting Governor of NTB, Lalu Gita Ariadi, Citilink’s presence serves the increasing mobility of the people of Bima Regency, Bima City and Dompu Regency.

“In the future, this could have a positive impact on the regional economy,” said Gita in a written statement from Citilink, Sunday, October 8 2023.

Meanwhile, for the purposes of tourism development, continued the Acting Governor of NTB, efforts are currently being made to open a Citilink Bima flight route to Labuan Bajo West Manggarai, NTT.

“For the purposes of tourism development, efforts are also being made on Citilink flights from Bima to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Bima, Muhammad Rum, expressed his gratitude regarding the presence of Citilink airline at Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Bima Airport.

“The presence of the Citilink aircraft is a promising first step. Of course we all hope that it can provide great benefits for Bima and Dompu. Apart from that, I see that the presence of Citilink opens up many opportunities in various sectors,” he said.

He added that with this flight service, people’s mobility will be better served. Opening the door to new opportunities in the tourism, economic and inter-regional connectivity sectors. [sources/photo special]
