DEVELOP AIRPORTS IN RI, WHITESKY FACILITY RECEIVES US$10 M. IN FRESH FUNDS

WHITESKY Group, through its subsidiary Whitesky Facility, has collaborated with ADB Group with an initial investment of US$10 million which will be used to develop airports in Indonesia (RI).

According to the CEO of Whitesky Group, Denon Prawiraatmadja, said Indonesia has 270 airports, 36 of which are managed commercially by PT. Angkasa Pura (AP) I and II. This collaboration is based on the large market opportunity for air transportation service users which continues to increase after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Through this collaboration, the initial investment value of US$10 million will be focused on operational costs in airport development. Both airports that we might collaborate with BUMN or airports under the management of the Ministry of Transportation,” said Denon.

He also hopes that the recovery period for passenger numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic will occur soon. Where INACA has described in its white paper that in 2025 the number of passengers and aircraft movements in the country will return to normal as before the pandemic.

According to Denon, in facing these conditions, the development of air infrastructure, especially airports, is the main key in making the national transportation business a success. If we say that in 2045 Indonesia is expected to become the fourth largest economy in the world, of course transportation is the backbone so that our country’s economy remains stable.

“The more investment profiles in Indonesia that develop work plans for the Hub and Spoke structuring concept, both for goods and people, the better it will be for the country so that it can develop more and make society prosperous. Not only from investors, we as business actors also hope for support from the Government through the relevant Ministries to make investment easier in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, ADB Group CEO, Margaret TJ said that his party wants to take part in playing an active role in advancing the world of aviation in the country. With this contribution, it is hoped that the country’s economy can progress further.

“We believe in the ability of the Whitesky Group and its team, which has long experience in the field of air transportation, coupled with the capabilities of the ABD Group, so with this collaboration we hope to be successful in realizing a shared vision and mission for the progress of the Indonesian nation and state,” she said.

Canadian Investor
It doesn’t stop there, said Denon, his party has also held intensive discussions with potential investors in Canada. Where his party has an investment target of US$1 billion.

“We will use this investment to collaborate with state-owned airports and we will also collaborate with airports under the management of the Ministry of Transportation. All this is with the aim of building better connectivity so that it can improve the national economy,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
