MINISTRY SUPPORTS F1 POWERBOAT THROUGH HR TRAINING: ANGELA

DEPUTY Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo affirmed that her side supports the 2024 Lake Toba F1 Powerboat racing event in the form of human resource (HR) training and a tour for diplomats.

“We provide support for F1 PowerBoat 2024 by increasing the number of human resources through some training, especially for planning travel and sustainable tour packages,” she stated in a discussion session held online here on Tuesday (02/27), 2024.

Diplomats from 20 countries that contributed the greatest number of foreign tourists to Indonesia will also get a tour to the tourist sites around Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

“There is also a diplomatic tour for 20 diplomats from neighboring countries that contribute the most foreign tourists to Indonesia. We take them to visit the TB Silalahi Museum and the Toba Caldera Resort,” she remarked.

Angela highlighted that the ministry also facilitates the airing of promotional activities of the F1 Powerboat event through social media channels and billboards.

In the racing event scheduled on March 2-3, 2024, her side is also working along with travel agents to prepare tour packages where tourists can visit the destinations later. As for accommodation, the deputy minister revealed that 6,757 rooms were still available for tourists.

“Related to the readiness of accommodation, we recorded 6,757 rooms in hotels, villas, homestays, and locals’ houses spread across Toba, Simalungun, Samosir, and other (districts) as of February 2024. While hundreds of rooms have been booked, there are still many available,” Angela concluded.

Meanwhile, locals constitute most of the spectators of F1 Powerboat. People interested in seeing the racing event in the largest volcanic lake in the world should not harbor concerns about the accommodation availability. [antaranew/photo special]
