AROUND 50 people were injured on Monday (03/11), 2024 when a LATAM Airlines flight experienced “technical problems” en route from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand. The incident occurred an hour before the plane landed, The New Zealand Herald newspaper reported.
One passenger said he felt a “slightly rapid descent” during the flight, while another said “a number of passengers and crew members were thrown onto the roof of the plane.”
The Chile-based airline’s plane landed as scheduled, and 14 ambulances were deployed to treat a number of injured passengers and cabin crew and take them to hospital.
Medics provided first aid to around 50 injured people, one of whom was in serious condition while the others suffered light to moderate injuries. [antaranews/photo special]
