JAVA JAZZ STRENGTHENS CREATIVE ECONOMY AS TOURIST ATTRACTION

THE implementation of “Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2024” is expected to further strengthen the creative economy sector, especially the music and event sub-sector as a tourist attraction. Java Jazz Festival 2024 will be held on May 24-26, 2024 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

“The Java Jazz Festival is our flagship and we have seen high public interest and we are targeting together with Java Jazz Production that more than 100 thousand (visitors) will attend this year and (the event) will still be made safe, comfortable and enjoyable,” said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno while attending the Java Jazz Festival 2024, Friday (05/24), 2024.

This event, which presents a lineup of the best local and international jazz musicians, also strengthens the creation of quality and sustainable tourism and creative economy.

This event pays attention to increasing sustainability aspects by practicing the latest and renewable energy such as electric vehicles and also waste management that refers to best practices.

“Apart from this, Java Jazz Festival 2024 also prioritizes inclusivity, where Jazz For Kids will be presented for the first time. So that parents and children can attend together and a playground will also be provided,” Sandiaga noted.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy collaborated with Nevertoolavish to enliven the Java Jazz Festival by showcasing the beauty of Indonesia’s beaches through a booth featuring the concept of The Wonder Beach Club. Various activations were also displayed, as well as collaborating with various key opinion leaders (KOL) to promote #DiIndonesiaAja.

“It’s really cool. Our involvement in the Java Jazz Festival with activation at the Wonders Beach Club booth and the Wonderful Indonesia Stage can add to the excitement of this event as part of our promotion for traveling #InIndonesiaAja,” Sandiaga remarked.

The government, Sandiaga said, is encouraging the event to continue because it will have a great impact on economic revitalization and the creation of job opportunities. The government is willing to provide support and facilitation, one of which is to ease the licensing process.

“If you look at this music concert, the increase is double the national economic growth of 5%, so we are targeting around 10 percent. From a total of 3,000 concerts for regional, medium and large classes, as well as national and international, our target is around 11 billion. The economy will turn around in US dollars and more than 250,000 jobs will be created. So, I think this needs to continue to be supported by the government,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
