GOV’T EXPECTS CLOSER COOPERATION BETWEEN INDONESIA-SWITZERLAND

INDONESIA and Switzerland have a long history of good relations. Especially in cooperation in the fields of development, tourism, law, investment and trade. A lot of bilateral cooperation has been carried out in the political, economic and trade fields.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, while attending and being the official representative of the Indonesian Government at the Swiss National Day held by the Swiss Embassy for Indonesia in Jakarta, Monday (8/01), 2024) evening in Jakarta, said that as a commemoration of the founding day of the Swiss State, this year we have also ratified an investment agreement between Indonesia and Switzerland.

“A lot of bilateral cooperation has been carried out, both in the political, economic and trade fields. This year, we also ratified an investment agreement between Indonesia and Switzerland,” Sandiaga said.

In the tourism sector, Indonesia and Switzerland have established long-term cooperation in the development of sustainable tourism in Indonesia since 2018. As well as the Indonesian-Swiss sustainable tourism project in cooperation with the Lombok Tourism Polytechnic.

“And now we are preparing to sign a new memorandum of understanding, including new cooperation in the development of sustainable tourism,” he stated.

The close relationship between Indonesia and Switzerland will also be further strengthened with the same perspective on various global issues, including human rights and world peace.

“In 73 years of friendship and bilateral cooperation, I am sure that the relationship between the two countries is very positive. I hope that the friendship between Indonesia and Switzerland will continue to grow in the future,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
