GARUDA-INDOSAT TO STRENGTHEN INDONESIAN AVIATION & TOURISM SECTORS

GARUDA Indonesia-Indosat have solidified a strategic collaboration to harness the latest technological innovations and solutions to revolutionize Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors.  This collaboration, aimed at accelerating the growth of these sectors, is also supported by the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy.

The synergy between these two institutions is exemplified by the signing of a collaboration commitment at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s headquarters in Jakarta. The commitment was signed by Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and Irfan Setiaputra, President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia, witnessed by representatives from Kemenparekraf RI and Sandeep Chakravorty, the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia.

According to Irfan Setiaputra, President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia, said this collaborative initiative aims to drive digital transformation in service quality within the aviation and tourism sectors through the use of cutting-edge technology.

“Garuda Indonesia, as a full-service airline, will explore the application of these technologies to enhance operational quality, optimize ancillary revenue, and personalize passenger experiences. This strategic move is expected to not only add value for Garuda Indonesia and its customers but also position Indosat as a pioneer in integrating advanced technology within the industry,” he said.

Irfan Setiaputra explained that sharing the same mission with Indosat to deliver a seamless travel experience for tourists, we hope that this exploration of collaboration will support the digital transformation of the tourism and aviation industries.

“For over seven decades, we have been at the forefront of providing safe and comfortable air transportation for the public. This collaboration is expected to further stimulate the growth and development of Indonesia’s aviation and tourism industries,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison said armed with the latest technological innovations developed by Indosat, we are committed to supporting the growth of every industry sector.

“We appreciate the support of the Indonesian Government in our shared vision to enhance Indonesia’s global reputation. Furthermore, Vikram Sinha continued that operationally, these innovations are expected to enhance the optimization of flight services through digitalization across various operational touchpoints. Moreover, to provide added value to customers, the implementation of cutting-edge technology will be continuously developed to help offer increasingly seamless travel planning for passengers.

Likewise, Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said this partnership marks a significant moment for Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, Indonesia will not only elevate the tourist experience but also create new economic opportunities that will drive sustainable growth.

“This collaboration sets a global standard for technology integration in aviation and tourism, positioning Indonesia as a premier destination on the world stage. And also, this collaboration between two industry leaders also supports Tourism Ministry’s efforts to boost Indonesian tourism. And committed to elevating Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors to the next level. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, they aim to deliver substantial benefits for industry growth and the national economy,” he pointed out.

Sandiaga concluded that this support includes collaboration in research and insights to bolster the tourism sector with the application of the latest technologies and the development of technological talent, especially among women, in the five priority tourist destinations. [sources/photo special]
