AIRASIA has just opened a direct flight route from Hong Kong to Jakarta starting October 8, 2024. This new route is highly anticipated by the public.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said connectivity is the key to increasing the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, especially direct flights from Hong Kong to Indonesia, which is highly anticipated.
“AirAsia’s flights are expected to attract more Hong Kong and international tourists to Indonesia. The inaugural flight of this route was welcomed on October 8. This route will serve Hong Kong-Jakarta and vice versa seven days a week using an Airbus A320 aircraft,” he said.
Mr. Sandiaga is confident that more airlines will open direct routes from Hong Kong to Indonesia in the future. Given the current growing trend of the outbound tourism market from Hong Kong. In addition, Indonesia is a destination that is very popular with foreign tourists from Hong Kong, especially because of its natural beauty and cultural similarities.
“It is hoped that the presence of this new flight route can attract more foreign tourists from Hong Kong to Indonesia. So, it can help increase foreign exchange from the tourism sector and create more jobs,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, said that the direct flight route from Jakarta to Hong Kong is very important because Hong Kong has become an international hub.
“Hong Kong is a hub in Asia and we hope that the opening of this new route will further encourage foreign tourists from Hong Kong and other countries to visit Indonesia. Earlier, Air Asia also launched a direct flight from Hong Kong to Denpasar, Bali on October 2, 2024,” Made Ayu Marthini affirmed.
The route is operated daily or seven days a week by an Airbus A320. For the Hong Kong-Denpasar route, flight QZ301 departs Hong Kong at 06.55 Hong Kong time and arrives in Denpasar at 11.50 WITA.
Meanwhile, the Denpasar-Hong Kong route will be served by flight QZ300, which departs Denpasar at 00.45 WITA and arrives in Hong Kong at 05.35 Hong Kong time. [sources/photo special]
