BI AND IFC TO SHOWCASE MODEST FASHION WORKS OF 238 DESIGNERS AT IN2MF 2024

BANK Indonesia (BI) together with the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) is ready to showcase modest fashion works by 238 local and international designers at the Indonesian International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF), which will be held in Jakarta from October 30 to November 3, 2024.

“There are 228 (local designers and fashion houses) involved and 10 foreign designers, a total of about 238 designers will appear,” Ali said when met at the IN2MF press conference in Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (10/24), 2024.

Supported by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, IN2MF will be held in Jakarta from October 30 to November 3, 2024. It will feature 228 Indonesian designers and fashion houses who will showcase a variety of modest fashion collections and combine them with traditional Indonesian textiles, as well as 10 foreign designers with their own distinctive works.

This year, IN2MF will be held under the theme “Elevating Sustainable Modest Fashion to The Global Stage”, which will focus on three main aspects. Starting from the aspect of sustainability, designing with attention to high quality, ensuring durability and reducing environmental impact.

“If we move modest fashion, then the opportunity to create jobs, the economy from Sabang to Merauke will also increase,” said Director of Sharia Economics and Finance Department of Bank Indonesia Ita Rulina.

Ita believes that Indonesia has the potential to become the largest modest fashion center because of the large Muslim population in Indonesia as well as the uniqueness of Indonesian textiles, which are not owned by any other country.

To this end, IN2MF is here to promote Indonesian modest fashion and open up opportunities for collaboration with partners and buyers from around the world.

“We want to strengthen the ecosystem, there are governments, associations, business actors, creative industries, they need to be connected. We will support creativity and innovation, so IN2MF in the future is targeted as a collaborative forum to increase capacity,” said Ita.

IN2MF will showcase the excellence and diversity of Indonesian modest fashion, including the latest developments in the modest fashion industry and the Indonesian halal lifestyle to the global market.

By integrating Indonesian textiles and culture into fashion, IN2MF in Jakarta is expected to provide a different experience for the global fashion industry. This time, IN2MF will feature various textiles from designers and fashion houses, including batik, songket, tenun and other traditional textiles.

IFC and BI hope that all the works displayed at IN2MF in Jakarta can open up sustainable wholesale business opportunities and strengthen the existence of the Indonesian modest fashion industry. In this way, Indonesian modest fashion will be increasingly known and accepted in the global market. [antaranews]
