TO ATTRACT MORE PEOPLE, MINISTER WANTS TO DEVELOP MUSEUM NIGHT ACTIVITIES

MINISTER of Culture, Fadli Zon wants night activities in museums to be developed and implemented in more museums to attract more people to museums.

“I think it’s becoming a trend. Night at the museum or museums at night, I think it’s one thing we can develop to enliven museums because the atmosphere could be different,” he said in Jakarta, Friday (12/27), 2024.

In the event of providing social security for workers to the heirs of cultural maestros held at Building A of the Ministry of Culture, he expressed his appreciation to museum managers who have opened museums until the evening and held night activities in museums.

“If I’m not mistaken, the National Museum is now open until the evening. So it’s not just limited to the afternoon,” he stated.

The Jakarta Maritime Museum is also preparing a marathon movie screening on New Year’s Eve 2025, providing a place for residents who want to watch the New Year with family or friends.

The Minister of Culture said that opening museums until the evening and holding night activities in museums could attract more visitors.

However, museum managers must certainly work extra hard to prepare the technical implementation of night activities in the museum, including arranging the right lighting and trying to ensure that visitors can enjoy the activities safely and comfortably. [antaranews]
