PT GARUDA Indonesia Tbk. predicts a surge in passengers on January 2-3, 2025 during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period of 2024/2025.
According to Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Finance and Risk Management Prasetio, said that Garuda Indonesia will provide more than 1.6 million seats and 9,000 flights during the Nataru period of 2024/2025.
Meanwhile, the 1.6 million seats in the 2024/2025 Nataru period are the result of seats provided by Garuda Indonesia as many as 817,698 seats and Citilink as many as 803,981 seats.
In the 2024/2025 Nataru period, Prasetio said his party saw a spike in passengers in early January 2025. This is similar to what happened on December 20-23, 2024, or before Christmas Eve.
“Flights during this peak season period, where the highest occurs, we expect January 2 and January 3 to experience the highest increase,” said Prasetio, Monday (12/30/2024).
For the total fleet in the 2024/2025 Nataru period, Prasetio said that his party prepared 58 fleets dominated by narrow-body aircraft as many as 39 and wide-body as many as 19.
The details are Boeing 737-800NG as many as 39 aircraft for passengers and cargo. This number includes the planned addition of 1 aircraft. The aircraft capacity is 162 seats.
In addition, the Airbus 330 series type as many as 12 passenger and cargo aircraft. The capacity ranges from 251 to 301 passengers.
Then the Boeing 777-300ER type as many as 7 aircraft. Passenger capacity ranges from 314 to 393 seats.
Of the total fleet provided, Prasetio said that the GIAA flight network and routes are still dominated by domestic. It is recorded that there are 49 routes for domestic flights.
“Garuda’s domestic flight network and routes are 49, international there are 19,” said Prasetio.
Previously reported, Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan said that Garuda Indonesia Group has prepared 526 additional flights with details of 316 Garuda Indonesia flights and 210 Citilink flights.
316 extra GIAA flights were prepared to cover the flight routes of Denpasar, Lombok, Medan (Kualanamu), Surabaya, Semarang and Singapore.
Meanwhile, Citilink added 210 additional flights, including to several leading destinations such as Denpasar, Medan (Kualanamu), Lombok and Solo.
