PELITA Air continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening its fleet despite the constraints in the aircraft procurement market.
Pelita Air President Director Dendy Kurniawan revealed that the airline plans to add six Airbus A320 aircraft in 2025. The move is to support the opening of new routes and increase frequencies on existing routes.
Currently, Pelita Air operates 12 Airbus A320 aircraft. However, procurement of additional aircraft faces serious challenges due to limited supply from major manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. In addition, the aircraft leasing market is becoming increasingly competitive.
“Although the market is challenging, we are optimistic that we will be able to grow our fleet. The confidence of aircraft owners in Pelita Air’s performance, as well as the fact that we are a subsidiary of Pertamina, gives us an advantage in the procurement process,” Dendy said on Wednesday (1/1).
Pelita Air relies on its good reputation in the industry and the full support of Pertamina to facilitate aircraft procurement, both through purchase and lease. This is the company’s main strategy to face competition and supply shortage.
Dendy added that this expansion is part of Pelita Air’s commitment to provide the best service to its passengers.
With the expansion of its fleet, Pelita Air is optimistic that it will be able to increase the capacity and accessibility of flights in Indonesia.
“The confidence of the aircraft owners and the support of Pertamina give us the advantage to continue to grow even though the market is facing great challenges,” he concluded.
With the addition of six aircraft in 2025, Pelita Air is expected to expand its service coverage, provide more choices for consumers, and contribute to strengthening national air connectivity. [kontan.co.id/photo special]
