GARUDA IS LOOKING FOR COOPERATION & FINANCING OF FLEET EXPANSION

INDONESIAN state airline, PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk. is targeting the opportunity for fleet financing and cooperation between airlines at the Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Global Conference 2025 in Dublin, Monday (01/13), 2025 local time.

According to Director of Garuda Indonesia, Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan said that the forum, which was followed by Garuda Indonesia, aimed to be able to obtain various opportunities for financing fleets and expand cooperation between airlines.

“This is an important forum for the aviation sector in the world, including airlines, aircraft managers, finance and asset management. Please support so that Giaa can bring benefits to this activity for our loyal customers, “said Wamildan in a social media upload.

Quoting Reuters, the investors and lessors of the global aviation industry gathered for annual meetings in Dublin on Monday (01/13/2025). The meeting coincided with strong aircraft lease rates and relatively stable oil prices, but face uncertainty over jet shortages and trade tensions.

The lessors saw the rental value and sales of jets increase as the airline tried to meet new demand at the same time as the aircraft manufacturer struggled to recover from COVID-19 pandemic.

For now, this means a huge windfall for lessees and many airlines, as a shortage of aircraft drives demand and ticket prices. However, there are concerns about access to new, efficient aircraft as the supply chain lacks spare parts and labor.

Independent industry observer Bertrand Grabowski said aircraft rental rates have begun to stabilize as airlines become increasingly reluctant to increase existing capacity.

“Some lessors and observers believe the market could return to overcapacity in three years or more,” Grabowski concluded. [sources/photo special]
