IN LINE with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to ensure a smooth and comfortable welcome for the Eid holiday in 2025, the government has prepared a number of strategic measures to deal with the surge in mobility during this homecoming season.
The surge in mobility during the Eid period, which is consistently higher than other major periods such as Christmas and New Year, requires thorough preparation.
Efforts will include preparing infrastructure and optimizing transportation services (land, sea, and air). In addition, the establishment of integrated posts across ministries/agencies to ensure effective coordination, including efforts to reduce traffic congestion at a number of points.
The government is also providing additional incentives, such as toll discounts on various roads and a free repatriation program for 100,000 people by bus, train and boat. The Ministry of Tourism fully supports these efforts, with a focus on improving tourism services and public mobility to ensure that the 2025 Eid Homecoming is a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
Domestic air ticket price reduction
As part of its efforts to support public mobility, the government today announced a 13-14% reduction in domestic airfares during the 2025 Eid Homecoming period. This policy applies to economy class tickets throughout Indonesia and is valid for travel from March 24, 2025 to April 7, 2025.
Tickets can be purchased from March 1, 2025, providing an opportunity and making it easier for people to plan their homecoming or travel in Indonesia at a more affordable cost.
According to the Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri said we appreciates all efforts to synergize and coordinate to accelerate the movement of domestic tourists during this important period.
“The Ministry of Tourism welcomes this policy, hoping that the discounted airfares will increase the mobility of domestic tourists, especially during the 1446 H Eid holiday. With more affordable ticket prices, it is hoped that more people can take advantage of the homecoming moment to travel and explore new destinations in Indonesia,” Widiyanti concluded. [traveltext.id]
