CHANGI Airport has been named World’s Best Airport 2025 in the World Airport Awards by aviation consultants Skytrax. The award ceremony was held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Madrid, Spain on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
This is the thirteenth time in the history of the award that Singapore Changi Airport has received it. Changi Singapore Airport also received other major awards for the world’s best airport restaurant, the world’s best airport toilet and the best airport in Asia.
According to Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airport Group, this is the 13th time that Changi Airport has been recognized by Skytrax as the world’s best airport. It is very gratifying to receive this recognition, and of course, it encourages us to continue to strive to provide the best travel experience.
“Changi lost the title last year to Hamad Qatar International Airport. Hamad International Airport, which has won the Best Airport title three times, dropped to second place. The airport also received an award for shopping at the world’s best airports and the best airport in the Middle East,” he said.
Tokyo International Airport in Japan and Incheon International Airport in South Korea were the next highest ranked airports. Fifth place went to Narita International Airport in Japan. The ranking is based on a global survey conducted by Skytrax between August 2024 and February 2025, collecting responses from more than 13 million airport users in over 100 countries.
Travelers rate airports based on their experiences at various stages of their journey, including check-in, arrival, transfer, shopping, security, immigration and boarding.
Home to the world’s largest indoor waterfall, Changi Airport is equipped with automated check-in counters and biometric authentication to speed up immigration procedures.
Meanwhile, Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said that the variety and choice of food and beverage outlets has also been recognized by Changi Airport, which won an award for the world’s best airport restaurant. The toilet at this airport is also the main driver of customer satisfaction while at the airport.

Recently, this airport became one of the first airports in the world to offer passport-free immigration at all terminals. This allows travelers to pass through immigration in as little as 10 seconds. [sources/special photo]
