ARTOTEL Group (AG) and the University of Indonesia (UI) officially established a strategic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education, Research, and Community Service, as well as a Cooperation Agreement on Venue Management within the University of Indonesia.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., Rector of the University of Indonesia, and Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, Chief Operating Officer of AG, on Monday (06/29), 2026 at the PAUI Building, University of Indonesia Campus, Depok, West Java.
According to Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, said through this MoU, ARTOTEL Group and the University of Indonesia have agreed to develop various collaborative programs that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service.
“This collaboration is expected to open up opportunities for student competency development, human resource capacity building, hospitality industry research, and various initiatives that have a positive impact on the community,” he said.
He explained that, through the Venue Management Cooperation Agreement, ARTOTEL Group is entrusted with providing professional experience in managing venue facilities within the University of Indonesia, prioritizing service standards, operational quality, and an international hospitality approach. This venue management will support the needs of various academic, institutional, and community activities, as well as national and international events, including Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) activities.
“With ARTOTEL Group’s experience in developing hospitality concepts based on creativity, service, and experience, this collaboration is expected to increase added value and optimize the venue’s function as a space for collaboration and interaction,” Eduard affirmed.
As a management partner, AG will manage several venues within the University of Indonesia to accommodate weekend activities (Saturday and Sunday), including: (1) the University of Indonesia Hall Building, with a capacity of approximately 3,000 people, (2) the University of Indonesia Convention Center (UNIC) and the University of Indonesia Convention Center (UNIC). Purnomo Prawiro Hall, consisting of an auditorium with a capacity of approximately 700 people and a multi-purpose lobby area with a capacity of approximately 500 people, (3). The University of Indonesia Convention Hall, with a capacity of approximately 280 people, (4). The Floating Room of the University of Indonesia Library, with a capacity of approximately 100 people.
He added that the trust placed in UI is both an honor and a great responsibility for AG, and he is proud to be part of Universitas Indonesia’s journey in developing an increasingly advanced educational ecosystem. This collaboration is not only about venue management, but also about how industry can contribute to creating relevant learning spaces, innovations, and experiences for future generations.
“This collaboration is a concrete step in strengthening the synergy between the hospitality industry and higher education institutions in creating an innovative, sustainable ecosystem that benefits the wider community,” Eduard concluded.
Meanwhile, the Rector of the University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., expressed his deep appreciation for this strategic partnership. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the industrial sector to optimize the potential of the university’s assets and resources for the well-being of the entire academic community and the maintenance of a superior ecosystem for implementing the Tri Dharma of higher education that has a real impact on the wider community.
“The synergy between the University of Indonesia and the ARTOTEL Group is a strategic step in optimizing existing assets within UI. We believe that professional, international-standard venue management will provide significant added value and support the sustainability of a superior and sustainable higher education ecosystem,” he admitted.
