THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is preparing additional accommodation for 313 health workers serving at Persahabatan Hospital and Army Hospital (RSPAD) in collaboration with the tourism industry in providing accommodation and transportation in the face of COVID-19.
According to Deputy of Marketing for Kemenparekraf Nia Niscaya in a statement in Jakarta, Monday (4/13) said the additional accommodation was divided into two, 239 health workers from Persahabatan Hospital and 74 health workers from RSPAD.
“Of course the accommodation provided for health workers is strived to be close to the hospital where they works. There are those who get facilities at Hotel Mercure Cikini and those at Persahabatan Hospital at Maxone Hotel Jalan Pemuda with a distance of about 1.7 kilometers,” Nia Niscaya said.
Furthermore Nia Niscaya said, not only accommodations, all the needs of health workers during their stay were also prepared. Starting from laundry, food, and shuttle bus every day is available for health workers.
“We also work with Trac Astra Rent Car for transportation that has been committed to providing the best service for medical personnel. By paying attention to safety and comfort aspects both for health workers, vehicle crews, and also the general public for implementing the Sanitation Hygiene SOP related to COVID-19,” she added.
Nia affirmed, the addition of this support was a request from the hospital given the increasing number of health workers who helped deal with COVID-19 patients.
Previously the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Wishnutama Kusubandio said, the main focus of the government in this emergency response period was handling and preventing the spread of COVID-19. But on the other hand it also tries to maintain the sustainability of the tourism industry, one of them is hospitality and transportation.
“The support and cooperation of the tourism industry is our joint effort in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. As well as assisting operations in the field, also moving actors in the MICE service business sector to be able to help the business cycle turnover in this difficult time,” Wishnutama concluded.
