NORTH MINAHASA DEVELOPS CREATIVE ECONOMY POTENTIAL THROUGH PMK31

MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages North Minahasa Regency to continue to develop the potential of the creative economy in the area through the Independent Assessment of Indonesia’s Creative District/City (PMK3I).

According to the Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure, Selliane Halia Ishak, in her remarks at the signing of the Minahasa Independent Assessment Results of Indonesian Creative Cities / Regencies at the Regent’s Office of North Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Friday (23/4), stated that this program aims to place North Minahasa in the map of the creative economy in Indonesia. PMK3I is a tool for all to map what the creative economy sub-sector is the most potential in North Minahasa from the 17 existing sub-sectors.

Selliane said that the development of the creative economy sector is expected to motivate other regions in North Sulawesi. Thus, the potential for the creative economy in North Sulawesi can be identified and mapped.

“For example, in North Minahasa, the main creative economy sub-sector is music. This requires the cooperation of various parties to continue to develop this sub-sector for the next several years as well as identify and develop other sub-sectors in this area,” Selliane said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office, Henry Kaitjili, said that I appreciated the selection of North Minahasa Regency as a Creative Regency. I also ask the North Minahasa District Government to collaborate with the North Sulawesi Provincial Government to continue to oversee this Creative District program so that the potential in North Minahasa can continue to be developed.

“So with the Creative District (title), we have weapons for economic development and growth. This creative district not only provides benefits for creative economy players, but also for society,” Henry said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of North Minahasa, Joune Ganda, expressed his gratitude for the appointment of his region as the Creative District in North Sulawesi. Moreover, North Minahasa has one of the five super priority destinations (SPD), namely Likupang.

“To support tourism, we must have a creative economy. We must have entrepreneurs who have products that can be sold to tourists,” Joune concluded. [traveltext.id]
