INDONESIA SHOWCASES TOURISM POTENTIAL AT ATM DUBAI 2021 EXHIBITION

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will showcase Indonesia’s tourism resilience and creative economy during a pandemic at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2021 exhibition.

According to Deputy for Marketing of Tourism Ministry, Nia Niscaya, in her statement, Saturday (15/5), said that the event would be held from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This exhibition aims to restore and open up new opportunities for the tourism industry and creative economy. The Dubai 2021 ATM Exhibition itself held on 16-19 May 2021 offline at the Dubai World Trade Center. Then, it will be followed by webinars and other online events on May 24-26.

Meanwhile Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, said that this exhibition is expected to arouse the enthusiasm of Indonesian tourism and creative economy players to continue to innovate and adapt. Especially to prepare to welcome back the arrival of foreign tourists when international flights have been completely opened after the COVID-19 epidemic.

“To achieve this, we have to do the totality of collaborating, adapting and innovating, this activity is one of the real efforts of the three things considering the collaboration between government and industry elements must support each other in new adaptations of how to do business in the tourism sector during the pandemic and of course new strategic innovations will be generated to re-embrace the post-pandemic market by expanding the scope of the tourism market and Indonesia’s creative economy in the international market,” he said.

Nia Niscaya added that through this activity, we want to meet potential buyers to ensure that Indonesia’s destinations, especially Bali, which will be opened first, are ready with the implementation of CHSE-based health protocols (Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability).

“We will also explain directly that the tourism and creative economy players and the community around the area to be opened have been vaccinated. This is all to build trust and gain confidence from the countries of origin of potential consumers to help revive the tourism sector and Indonesia’s creative economy,” Nia noted.

At the exhibition in Dubai, the Indonesian delegation was represented by 20 representatives of tourism and hotel service providers. This year’s promotions will be focused on five super priority destinations, namely Mandalika, Lombok, Lake Toba, Likupang, Labuan Bajo, and Borobudur.

Not only that, continued Nia the Wonderful Indonesia pavilion also promotes tourism in other areas in Indonesia that have implemented strict and disciplined health protocols. In addition to the 20 representatives who participated in the exhibition in Dubai, there were also 80 tourism and hotel service providers participating in the online exhibition in Bali on May 24-26.

“Our participation in this event is expected to bring in a lot of potential transactions which are expected to stimulate the tourism sector and Indonesia’s creative economy. Because when we participated in the 2019 Dubai ATM, Indonesia recorded an estimated potential transaction of IDR1.292 trillion,” Nia concluded. [traveltext.id]
