AKI 2021 HOPED WILL BE ABLE TO LIFT BACK OF EKRAF POTENTIAL POST-PANDEMIC

MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno hopes that the Appreciation of Indonesian Creation (AKI) 2021 can help revive the potential, enthusiasm and income of players in the creative economy (ekraf) industry who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Appreciation of Indonesian Creation is a program of the Tourism Ministry that will provide assistance to creative economy players in the culinary, craft, fashion, music, film, animation, application and games subsectors in 20 cities/regencies in Indonesia through increasing the capacity of creative economy actors in the creative economy ecosystem. as well as exhibitions.

“Through the 2021 Indonesian Creative Appreciation (AKI), it is expected to be able to provide opportunities for people to be able to raise the potential, enthusiasm and income of players in the creative industry, especially in the culinary, crafts, fashion, music, applications, games, films and animation subsectors that fell due to the effects of the pandemic COVID-19 so that later it can increase competitiveness, produce products that are ready to compete in the creative product market both nationally and internationally,” Sandiaga said.

President Joko Widodo has said that the creative economy is expected to become the backbone of Indonesia’s future economy. This is considering the potential of the creative economy as an alternative source of new economies to increase GDP (gross domestic product) and increase the community’s economy, especially in the industrial era 4.0.

The 20 districts/cities are Bogor, Tasikmalaya, Bandung, Semarang, Surakarta, Wonosobo, Jepara, Banyumas, Pekalongan, Banyuwangi, Blitar, Surabaya, Malang, Denpasar, Lombok, Medan, Palembang, Lampung, Makassar and Balikpapan.
