INDEED, undeniable that music from the 77-78 era gave birth to legendary songs and always has a place in the hearts of music lovers. In addition to the original music, the music of this era is also everlasting and always pleasant to hear.
Music in that era can also be called the golden age of Indonesian music, where there was a ada Lomba Cipta Lagu Remaja Prambors (LCLR) or Prambors Youth Song Creation Competition which was very popular and gave birth to many evergreen songs such as “Kidung”, “Lilin-lilin Kecil”, “Dalam Kelembutan Pagi”, “Kelana”, “Jelaga”, “Kharisma Indonesia” and many more.
This is the reason why the band Wisnu Serta Rekan (WSR) experimented with this charisma-filled Indonesian Pop music. Not only wanting to treat the longing for Indonesian music lovers, the WSR group also tried to revive music in the Prambors Youth Song Creation Competition (LCLR) era, with the same style and proportions in that era. It is hoped that a fresh sensation will be obtained after listening to old music that has not been heard for the Indonesian music lover community.
Starting from Longing for LCLR Music, Wisnu and Partners (WSR) is a band with 3 vocalists and holding musical instruments. They are Zaky (vocals), Vishnu (bass), and Dhimas (keyboards).
Uniquely, WSR members also have experience as musicians from their respective bands. For example, Wisnu, who is active as Funky Corporal’s bassist, and Zaky, who previously became the lead vocal in several bands with various genres, ranging from soothing Pop music to Rock music. Meanwhile, Dhimas who plays the keyboard is heavily influenced by the legend musical styles of Yockie Suryoprayogo, Debby Nasution, and Ronnie Harahap.
Even though they were just born during the pandemic because of the personnel’s longing for music that sounded human in the midst of the rise of digital music, they did not deny the musical innovations that were born with the help of technology. Therefore, they carry the concept of Indonesian Pop era 77-78 combined with modern musical instruments.
The same tastes and musical references between WSR personnel make this band firmly carry the concept of LCLR era music. The legend musicians such as Chrisye, Keenan Nasution, and Yockie Suryoprayogo, Benny Soebardja who are able to make the listeners immersed in the music, have inspired WSR a lot in their work.
For WSR itself, it offers a sound in the style of the Badai Band, which observers have dubbed as elite pop music because the majority of its audience are “gedongan” or the haves people. The lyrics used are not nutty lyrics and tend to be heavy with a lot of use of poetic words and terms from Sanskrit.
Currently, WSR claims to be working on their debut album. According to Zaky, the album, which is planned to be released at the end of this year, will be released in physical and digital form consisting of 10 selected songs. Fans of Badai Band, Chrisye, or LCLR Prambors are ready to reminisce through this album. [traveltext.id]
