THE INDONESIA’S Government is preparing a plan to open Bali for foreign tourists. The plan, Bali will begin to open to foreign tourists on 14 October. One of the topics discussed relates to the quarantine period.
According to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said after a limited meeting, Thursday (10/7), the meeting discussed the quarantine period. With a situation like this it will be closed and its position will be 5 days.
“Previously the quarantine period was set for 8 days. During quarantine, foreign tourists are required to be inside the hotel and carry out a PCR examination. During the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic, Bali tourism was indeed closed to foreign tourists. The development of cases that are getting better has made the government start reopening a number of areas,” he said.
Minister Airlangga explained that seeing the situation in islands such as Bali or even in the Riau Islands, where the level had dropped, he asked to be prepared to be opened.
The plan to open Bali also received a good response from business actors. The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) said the opening of Bali would be the door for the start of tourism activities.
“There is enlightenment for the potential for foreign tourists to return to Bali. Promotional activities will be encouraged towards the end of the year holiday period. This is done in conjunction with observing the implementation of health protocols from the government,” explained PHRI Secretary General Maulana Yusran recently. [antaranews/photo special]
