THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy evaluates various programs and performance achievements of the tourism and creative economy sectors in 2021. This activity is also coupled with synchronization of programs from each deputy in order to produce programs in the next year that are more targeted, effective and appropriate time.
The tourism sector and the creative economy are expected to rise and move the economy by opening up job opportunities for the community.
According to Minister Sandiaga Uno when opening the “Technical Coordination Meeting on Evaluation of Tourism and Creative Economy Programs for 2021 and Synchronization of Tourism and Creative Economy Programs for 2022”, Monday (12/20) at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, said that throughout 2021 there were many an achievement to be grateful for in an effort to generate and develop the tourism sector and the creative economy.
Like the visit of domestic tourists to Bali which is starting to increase. This shows that all tourism and creative economy stakeholders can adapt, innovate, and collaborate in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic situation which is now also getting better.
In addition, Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certification for the tourism industry and the creative economy also continues to increase where this year more than 6,700 industries have been certified. In total, there have been more than 11,000 tourism and creative economy industries that have been certified since 2020 in all regions of the country.
But on the other hand, in 2021 there will also be many challenges from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, starting from policy making, policy design, policy formulation, to policy implementation and policy execution.
“What we have planned and done in 2021 we want to evaluate. We will also not only stop the evaluation, but what we do in the framework of pivoting for 2022 later,” said Sandiaga.
Sandiaga explained, this Technical Coordination Meeting became a platform in formulating the PDCA concept (plan, do, check, act) so that it could produce mutual agreements and decisions.
“This will be narrowed down. The outcome of this technical coordination meeting is how our policies going forward are policies that are right on target, right to benefit, and on time,” Sandiaga remarked.
One of them is in the tourism destination development strategy which will focus on improving the quality and reputation of tourism destinations that have an outstanding value proposition, locality, competitiveness, inclusion, and sustainability to create an integrated tourism ecosystem.
At the same time encouraging the region and improving the welfare of the community by paying attention to natural, cultural and human resources. So that it can present quality, resilient, and sustainable destinations.
“We have to take a role to be able to print the opportunities that exist to print new winners in the context of recovery and finally the ideals of national independence that we have to build the socioeconomic community in the midst of a pandemic. We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, but how? We protect all and all of Indonesia’s bloodshed, promote public welfare and educate the nation’s life, as well as participate in international relations based on freedom and eternal peace,” Sandiaga concluded.
