TOURISM destinations continue to be promoted by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy through the Travel Bubble scheme and it is proposed that several tourist destinations in Bali, Jakarta, Batam, and Bintan, are prioritized to get vaccines early because these three areas are tourist entry points.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said that in the early stages, Indonesia’s travel bubble tourism destinations with Singapore began on January 24, 2022. The travel bubble scheme carried out by the Indonesian government was the opening of the travel bubble doors in the Riau Archipelago.
“There are two entrances for foreign travelers (PPLN) to the Batam and Bintan areas, namely; Nongsapura Sensasional International Ferry Terminal, Batam and Bandar Bintan Telani Ferry Terminal for the Lagoi Bintan Resort bubble travel area, Bintan,” he said.
Until now, the application of the travel bubble, which was just approved on January 24, 2022, is still being evaluated. As for the results later, according to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, he said that the travel bubble cooperation agreed by Indonesia and Singapore would be evaluated in two weeks.
“Bubble will be evaluated in two weeks. If there is a problem, we will consider stopping it,” Luhut said at a press conference that was held virtually, Monday, January 24, 2022.
Tourist destinations with a travel bubble scheme are agreements with other countries to open entry access for tourists so that bubbles or travel corridors arise. The purpose of this travel bubble scheme is to make it easier for tourists to travel in and out of Indonesia, including from Singapore, which has been the country that contributes the largest number of tourists to Indonesia.
