ONLINE travel agent, tokopedia said that transactions for travel activities in the service recorded an increase of up to 3.5 times ahead of the year-end holiday period. This can be seen from the level of booking travel tickets by plane, train, to booking accommodation in the form of hotels.
“This is evident from transactions in the Travel category at tokopedia, which increased almost 3.5 times on average towards the end of this year,” said Travel and Entertainment Business Senior Lead tokopedia Mirna Puspita in a press release, Saturday (12/03). For travel by plane, tokopedia lists several favorite destinations for its service users, such as Jakarta, Medan, Bali and Surabaya.
Then for land trips using rail services, several areas, namely Jabodetabek, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang and Bandung, are the most in demand by the public. Hotel booking transactions through Tokopedia ahead of the year-end holidays also experienced a positive trend.
“Batam, Medan, Samarinda, Sleman and Balikpapan are some of the areas with the highest growth in hotel booking transactions. The average increase in hotel booking transactions in these various areas has almost doubled,” said Mirna.
Reflecting on the very high public interest in planning year-end holidays, tokopedia is holding an online travel fair ‘Tokopedia Fantastrip’ which will be held until 31 December 2022.
This campaign presents a selection of tour packages that include a range of activities as well as accommodation and travel tickets that are more economical to meet the tourism needs of the community. The public can get discounts of up to IDR750,000 for purchasing plane tickets or hotels, as well as trip prizes to Bali, America or Europe.
