THE INDONEIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates the success of organizing the 2023 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC) international conference which brought together more than 4,500 delegates from 28 countries.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in his statement, Monday (5/22), 2023, said the event which took place from 10-13 May 2023 at Tennis Indoor Senayan GBK and Hotel Sultan Jakarta, said JCI ASPAC 2023 strengthened the momentum of tourism revival Indonesia, especially in the MICE sector (meeting, incentive, conference, exhibition) so that it has a broad impact on economic revival and job opportunities.
“The success of the JCI Asia-Pacific Conference has become an important momentum for the revival of the Indonesian tourism industry. This event not only provides valuable experience for the delegates, but also proves that the country’s tourism and MICE industry is growing and experiencing extraordinary improvements,” said Sandiaga.
JCI ASPAC 2023 which is the first post-pandemic JCI in-person conference and the second ASPAC event to be held in Indonesia after previously being held in 1999 in Bali.
This organization, which has succeeded in producing leaders such as Kofi Annan, Jacques Chirac, Bill Clinton, and Taro Aso, aims to provide opportunities for self-development for young people aged 18-40 years around the world through the process of public speaking, entrepreneurship, leadership, networking training, and cultural exchange.
For four days the JCI ASPAC 2023 agenda in Jakarta was filled with seminars, training, trade shows, general assemblies, JCI forums between countries discussing current issues and their resolution, cultural exchange in National Nights activities. In addition there are also business forums, exhibitions, JCI Debating Championship, JCI World Public Speaking Championship, JCI Awards Ceremony – Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) program, Twinning Chapter, JCI ASPAC Senate Board Meeting, and Farewell Ball (Gala).
“I hope that the achievements of organizing the biggest post-pandemic event will continue to add to landmark events (for Indonesia) and strengthen relations with JCI to create quality job opportunities in an effort to revive not only the tourism sector but the global economic sector as a whole,” said Sandiaga.
JCI ASPAC 2023 was attended by approximately 4,800 delegates from around 28 countries such as Malta, Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, Switzerland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Guinea, Tunisia, Bangladesh, India, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Cambodia, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Australia, Uruguay, Benin and Dominica.
This conference is also an opportunity to promote the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of Indonesian tourism destinations, demonstrate the potential of youth and young entrepreneurs in fostering international relations, as well as being an opportunity to promote the JCI organization as a platform for the formation of superior global youth.
“This conference is also expected to strengthen the target of achieving foreign tourist arrivals this year which will reach 8.5 million tourists,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
