GARUDA & SINGAPORE AIRLINES COLLABORATES ON AVIATION NETWORK

PT GARUDA Indonesia Tbk together with Singapore Airlines continues to strengthen the strategic partnership in developing a seamless flight network between Indonesia and Singapore.

This commitment is marked by the exploration of commercial cooperation through a joint venture scheme approach with flight routes between the two airlines which will be carried out on the Singapore-Denpasar, Singapore-Jakarta and Singapore-Surabaya flight routes.

According to the Main Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said this collaboration is a follow-up to the expansion of the commercial collaboration that has existed since November 2021.

“Through this collaboration, it will enable Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines to optimize their flight network development strategy by adding a variety of complementary flight schedule options including by providing more competitive prices,” he said.

He explained that this collaboration also strengthens the foundation for corporate program collaboration between the two airlines which can be developed in the future.

Irfan said that with more than a decade of cooperation between Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines, this collaboration with the flight route joint venture scheme would be a follow-up initiative to expand cooperation that provides added value for both airline’s customers.

“As well as strengthening the commitment to strategic collaboration between the two airlines in the momentum of the revival of the post-pandemic aviation sector,” he said

Irfan added that this collaboration is also part of an effort to improve the company’s performance through a network strategy by optimizing flight schedules through a partnership with Singapore Airlines.

Through this initiative, the two airlines agreed to explore more benefits for flight service users, by offering a variety of schedule options that are in line with the service standards carried out by Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines.

“In addition, this collaboration is also expected to strengthen strategic bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore, especially in the tourism sector in increasing opportunities for foreign tourists to visit various exotic and leading destinations in Indonesia and Singapore,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Airlines, said the joint venture will be a collaboration that will provide benefits for both airlines by enhancing the long-term partnership between Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines.
