THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy invites both domestic and foreign investors to increase investment in efforts to develop the tourism sector in Indonesia.
According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, at the ASEAN Workshop on Tourism Investment, said tourism is one of the economic forces that continues to grow in various parts of the world. Because, tourism creates a lot of fields and awakens the people’s economy.
“However, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an extraordinary impact on this sector. However, tourism stakeholders from around the world are collaborating and thinking together on how to further develop the tourism sector from the effects of the pandemic and economic development by prioritizing environmental sustainability,” said Angela.
Therefore, she revealed that as an effort to develop this sector, more investment is needed to accelerate recovery and strengthen the tourism ecosystem, especially in Indonesia. Currently, the percentage of investment growth in Indonesia’s tourism sector has reached 92% in the first quarter of 2023.
“This growth was triggered by collaboration between ministries and institutions to facilitate investment regulations in Indonesia. In addition, currently the Indonesian Government is developing five new tourism destinations and we have disbursed funds of IDR 18.9 trillion to build tourism ecosystems in priority destinations,” Angela remarked.
She hopes that this activity can be an opportunity for stakeholders and investors to share information on investment tips in the tourism sector and open up new investment opportunities. “Hopefully this forum can produce good results for all of us,” Angela concluded. [traveltetx.id]
