LION AIR POSITIVELY ADDS FLIGHT ROUTES TO BANGKA-BELITUNG ISLANDS PROVINCE

BEING the main strategy targeted in efforts to control inflation in the Bangka-Belitung Islands Province (Kep. Babel) in 2023, the problem of lack of flying hours for flight routes to Kep. Babylon can now be said to have found a bright spot.

This is based on the meeting of the Acting Governor Kep. Babel Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu who was accompanied by GM Angkasa Pura II at Depati Airport Amir Mohammad Adiwiyatno with the President Director (President) of Lion Air Group, Rudi Lumingkewas, which resulted in a positive result of Lion Air airline’s ability to increase its flight hours to Kep. Babylon.

In the meeting held at the Lion Air Tower, Friday (9/01), 2023, the Acting Governor explained that Kep. Babylon is air transport. He also received a lot of public complaints regarding the frequent occurrence of running out of plane tickets for those who wanted to go to Kep. Babylon and beyond.

“We often run out of tickets, sir. I often do not get tickets, let alone the public. There are lots of requests for tickets, but little availability. That is why, in the end, we asked for help,” said the Acting Governor.

The Acting Governor Suganda added, indeed in Bangka Belitung on normal days, flights are often full, especially during school holidays, year-end, or big day celebrations.

“Ordinary flights like now have high traffic, sir, especially during holiday sessions. Not to mention, Bangka Belitung is also often appointed as the host of national and international events. So, there will indeed be a lot of activities and it really needs additions,” he remarked.

Responding to this, President Director of Lion Air Group, Rudi Lumingkewas said that in fact Lion Air had indeed made plans regarding additional flight hours, one of which was the destination to Bangka-Belitung.

“We have every weekly meeting throughout Indonesia, Bangka Belitung is one that is always a priority that must be added. Because we also analyze the traffic. Lion Group stated that it will add flights to the Babel Islands. I am sure the Babel Islands will be added,” Rudy noted.

For this statement, the Acting Governor of Bangka-Belitung Suganda expressed his gratitude, because the decision taken by the Lion Group will be very meaningful and influential in maintaining the smooth and stable air transportation in Bangka-Belitung. [sources/photo special]
