Apart from the joint selection, the six Poltekpar under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, namely Poltekpar Medan, Poltekpar Palembang, Poltekpar NHI Bandung, Poltekpar Bali, Poltekpar Lombok, and Poltekpar Makassar will also carry out independent entrance selections scheduled by each Poltekpar.
“We are dividing this (joint selection process) into three stages. First is the scholastic and literacy test which will be carried out on May 20 2024. Then we will continue with the interview test on June 6-7 2024, and the health test on June 10 2024,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, said that tourism is a mainstay for economic transformation and national policy has outlined that vocational education is also a priority.
“All of our schools under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy are vocational schools. Then the fact is, our schools don’t need to wait until one year for the children to graduate, and some are even accepted to work before graduating. That is a fact,” said Giri.
One of the alumni of Poltekpar NHI Bandung who is also State Civil Apparatus (ASN) Tourism Ministry, Febrie Purwoandhika, said that while studying at Poltekpar, he received best practice, especially practicum, which was very adequate, both in terms of science and facilities and infrastructure.
“As much as 70% of the knowledge we get from Poltekpar is practical, around 30% is theory taught directly by lecturers whose preparation involves people from the hospitality industry itself,” said Febrie.
Apart from that, Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) students also have competency certification for students as well as the opportunity to become daily workers or casual workers in the top hotel or cafe industry in Indonesian tourism. “So be ready immediately because 70% of the knowledge gained is applied,” concluded Febrie.
