PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that Eid al-Fitr 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriah will be a momentum for people to forgive each other and stay in touch to rebuild brotherhood into a harmonious nation.
This hope was conveyed by President Jokowi when conveying his congratulations on Eid al-Fitr 1445 H virtually via the Presidential Secretariat network (online) in Jakarta, Tuesday (04/9), 2024 evening.
“Hopefully on this holy day, we can forgive each other and stay in touch with each other to rebuild our brotherhood into a harmonious and peaceful nation, which is united in building Indonesia,” he said.
The video, which is approximately 1.23 minutes long, shows President Jokowi accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo who is dressed in matching white shirts with the backdrop of the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex.
“The First Lady and I wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, we apologize physically and mentally,” he said.
On that occasion, the President expressed his hope that people would have a smooth and safe return journey to their destination.
“For ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters who are going home and are going home, have a happy stay in touch with relatives and extended family. I hope you have a smooth and safe journey,” he said.
Closing his statement, the Head of State expressed a prayer for the Indonesian people so that they will always be blessed with blessings and protection from Allah SWT.
“May Allah SWT bestow His blessings and continue to guide and protect us all,” he said.
The Ministry of Religion determined that 1 Shawwal 1445 Hijriah or Eid al-Fitr this year would fall on Wednesday (10/4) through an isbat session held at the Ministry of Religion Office in Jakarta, Tuesday.
“Based on calculations of the position of the new moon in Indonesia which has entered the MABIMS criteria, as well as reports of the new moon being seen, it is agreed that 1 Shawwal 1445 Hijriah falls on Wednesday, April 10 2024 AD,” said Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at a press conference to determine the Isbat session.
