THE BROMO Tengger Semeru National Park Center (BB TNBTS) recorded that the number of tourists visits to Mount Bromo, one of the main tourist destinations in East Java, reached 8,169 people during the Idul Adha 1445 Hijriah holiday.
According to the head of the TNBTS Public Relations Data Evaluation Team, Hendra Wisantara in Malang City, East Java, said Tuesday (06/18), 2024, that the number of visits of 8,169 people was recorded in the period of June 15-18, 2024.
“The total number of tourist visits during the Eid al-Adha holiday reached 8,169 people in the period of June 15-18, 2024,” he said..
Hendra explained in detail that 1,636 tourists were recorded on June 15, divided into 1,535 local tourists and 101 foreign tourists. Meanwhile, on June 16, there were 3,497 domestic tourists and 47 foreign tourists, or a total of 3,544 people.
Then, on June 17, a total of 2,210 visits were recorded, consisting of 2,147 domestic tourists and 63 foreign tourists, and on June 18, there were 772 domestic tourists and seven foreign tourists, or a total of 779 people.
According to him, the number of tourist visits reached its highest point during the Eid al-Adha holiday celebration on June 16, reaching 3,544 people or exceeding the normal capacity prepared by the area management.
“To cope with the high number of tourists visiting Mount Bromo, the TNBTS center increased the tourist quota, which is set at 2,752 people per day on normal days. The quota increase was carried out on June 16, in accordance with the scheme that was previously implemented,” he remarked.
The scheme implemented by the management is carried out at certain hours after tourists have left the national park area. Tourists who want to see the sunrise in the area of Mount Bromo and enter the National Park in the early hours of the morning will be admitted as usual with a quota of 2,752 people.
Then, if the quota of 2,752 people is used up, visitors are not allowed to enter the national park area and can wait for the additional quota which starts at 07:00 WIB.
Mount Bromo is one of the leading tourist destinations in the East Java region. In 2023, the number of visits to the national park, which has the title of the third most beautiful in the world, will reach 368,507 tourists. This number is divided into 355,297 domestic tourists and 13,210 foreign tourists. The visit also provided the government non-tax revenue (PNBP) worth IDR14.70 billion. [antaranews]
