MINISTRY APPRECIATES GENPI’s IN PROMOTING INDONESIAN TOURISM

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates the Generasi Pesona Indonesia (GenPi) community for consistently promoting Indonesian tourism and creative economy through social media.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno when attending the 2024 GenPi National Coordination Meeting, Saturday (10/5), 2024 in Jakarta, said I encouraged GenPi to continue to play a role and strengthen its position as one of the largest tourism communities in Indonesia.

“This event is a very important momentum, not only as a means of friendship, but also as a place to discuss and collaborate in the development of Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy,” said Sandiaga.

The 2024 GenPi National Coordination Meeting carries “GASS” as the theme, which is a reflection to restore the spirit of GenPI members to continue to contribute in accordance with the original values of GenPI’s presence as a tourism and creative economy community.

Currently, in the midst of the ongoing post-pandemic recovery efforts, the tourism and creative industries are facing quite significant challenges. However, with solid collaboration, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy is optimistic that tourism and the creative economy will still be able to play a role as a supporting sector for the national economy.

Sandiaga emphasized that the government cannot work alone, but needs the support of various parties, including communities such as GenPi. This is a real contribution to Indonesia’s economic recovery, and GenPI has proven to be a very strategic community in promoting tourism through social media and digital campaigns.

Through campaigns such as #DiIndonesiaAja, GenPI has helped raise awareness among domestic tourists to explore local destinations. In 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy aims to create tourist villages and creative villages, which will be the driving force for community-based tourism.

“In the future, I hope that GenPI can continue to innovate, become a pioneer in digital promotion, and strengthen the role of the community in promoting the growth of tourism and the creative economy. I am sure that GenPI will be at the forefront of introducing Indonesia’s tourism potential to the international world,” said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga hopes that GenPI will remain consistent in involving local communities and MSMEs, and continue to work with all parties to achieve common goals.

“Thank you to all GenPI members who have worked hard to promote our tourism. I am sure that with the spirit of ‘GASS’, we will continue to move forward. Let’s go full throttle together to realize Indonesia as a world-class tourism destination,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
