On Monday, November 24, 2025, when contacted by antarnews.com in Jakarta, stated that Saudi Arabian tourists are generally familiar with Indonesian tourist destinations such as Bandung, Bali, Lombok, and Jakarta.

“Saudi Arabian tourists tend to prefer tourist areas that offer a cool climate, abundant greenery, a tranquil atmosphere, and five-star accommodation facilities. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Indonesia is expected to reach 135,643 in 2024, marking a 25.96% increase compared to the previous year.

From January to September of 2025, 113,685 tourists from Saudi Arabia visited Indonesia, and it is expected that this number will continue to increase until the end of the year. The Ministry of Tourism is implementing a variety of promotional strategies to attract more Saudi Arabian tourists.

In this instance, the Ministry of Tourism facilitated business meetings between five Indonesian companies and 42 representatives of Saudi Arabian companies. The Saudi Arabian representatives included travel agents, attraction organizers, airlines, real estate companies, hotels, and banks.

The Ministry of Tourism invites Saudi Arabian travel service businesses to experience Indonesian tourism services through Mega Famtrip activities to Jakarta, West Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and Bali in October 2025.

The Ministry of Tourism will continue its collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh and the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, as well as with the tourism industry and stakeholders from both Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, to intensify promotional efforts.
