AIRLINES are again holding plane ticket discount programs to encourage people’s interest in traveling during the Christmas and New Year or Christmas 2025/2026 period.
A number of domestic to international routes are offered at cheaper prices than usual, especially for limited time travel. Several international routes that are listed are cheaper, including Jakarta-Bangkok to Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur (KL).
Quoting one of the online travel agent (OTA) applications, the Jakarta-Bangkok route for the flight period January 8 2026 is currently cheap, namely IDR1.2 million per person. The ticket price for this route applies to flights with Scoot airlines.
For your information, ticket prices on this route during the Christmas period, especially before the Christmas celebrations, have increased to IDR5.5 million per person. To be precise, tickets at that price are for flights on Tuesday (12/23), 2025 using the Scoot airline.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia airline on the same day set a ticket price of IDR7.5 million per person, considering that the airline is a full-service type. Even so, cheap ticket prices for the Jakarta-Bangkok route can be obtained for flights on Wednesday (31/12) or the day before the New Year celebrations at a price of IDR1.8 million per person.
On the other hand, for international flights on the Jakarta-Tokyo route, the cheapest is IDR3.4 million per person, valid for flights on Wednesday (12/31), 2025 using Scoot airline. This price is recorded to be cheaper compared to other days leading up to the New Year celebrations which have reached from IDR4.6 million per person to IDR5.4 million per person.
Not only these two routes, cheap ticket prices were recorded for the Jakarta – Kuala Lumpur route on Wednesday (31/12) at IDR868 thousand per person. In fact, the cheapest ticket for the Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur flight was recorded on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at IDR775 thousand per person.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur route ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations range from IDR1 million to IDR1.7 million per person. [sources/photo special]
