BALI has once again solidified its position as the world’s best tourist destination by achieving first place in TripAdvisor’s “The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026.”
In a statement in Jakarta on Friday (01/16), 2026, Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana expressed her appreciation for the trust and positive assessments of Bali from international tourists.
“Thank you for the reviews and ratings given to Bali through TripAdvisor. Bali’s selection as the world’s best tourist destination by Tripadvisor demonstrates that Bali remains a magnet for global tourism,” said Minister Widiyanti.
The first place in the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026 is the highest position Bali has ever achieved in TripAdvisor’s history. Previously, Bali had consistently ranked in the Top 10, but had never been ranked first.
This award is compiled based on global traveler reviews and ratings of the world’s best destinations through 2025. Bali outperformed various iconic destinations on the list, such as London (2024 winner), Dubai, Hanoi, Paris, and Rome.
In addition to being named the World’s Best Destination, Bali also won several other prestigious awards, including first place in the Best Honeymoon Destination, Top 10 Cultural Destinations, Top 10 Solo Travel Destinations, and Top 20 Trending Cities in the World.
This achievement is expected to spur improvements in service quality and strengthen sustainable tourism principles throughout Indonesia, while attracting more quality tourists in the future.
“Moving forward, we want to ensure that Bali continues to grow as a quality tourism destination, benefiting local communities, preserving the environment, and inspiring the world,” Widiyanti stated.
