INDONESIA’s Nusantara Capital Authority said 67 private investors have committed IDR74.54 trillion (about US$4.56 billion) to the country’s new capital, while public-private partnership projects have reached IDR134.22 trillion (about US$8.21 billion).
Nusantara Capital Authority Head Basuki Hadimuljono announced the figures during talks on investment opportunities with Central Java provincial officials in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, on Friday (08/7), 2026.
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, along with district heads and deputy district heads from across the province, attended the meeting on collaboration and investment opportunities in Indonesia’s future capital.
Basuki said Nusantara’s financing combines private investment, the state budget, public-private partnerships and grants. Public-private partnership projects are currently valued at IDR134.22 trillion (about US$8.21 billion).
The authority is expanding cooperation with regional governments, including Central Java, saying stronger interregional collaboration is essential to developing Nusantara as an inclusive and sustainable political capital.
He said cooperation extends beyond investment to strategic sectors, including goods and services procurement, human capital development, the creative economy and tourism.
“Every investor is welcome. If Central Java becomes a partner of the Nusantara Capital Authority, fiscal incentives will be available,” Basuki said.
Governor Ahmad Luthfi said Central Java has pursued development through collaboration involving all stakeholders, an approach he hopes will also underpin cooperation with the Nusantara Capital Authority.
The Central Java administration expects stronger cooperation to boost investment, expand interregional partnerships and generate mutual economic benefits for Nusantara’s development and regional growth. [antaranews]
