TRANSNUSA is continuing its business expansion strategy in the second half of 2026. In addition to preparing for fleet expansion, the airline is optimizing existing international routes by increasing flight frequencies.
One such move is increasing the frequency of the Jakarta–Singapore route to four flights daily. This increase follows an earlier expansion, when TransNusa raised the frequency from two to three flights per day in April 2026.
TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bernard Francis stated that the increased flight frequency aligns with growing passenger demand for both business and leisure travel.
“Increasing the flight frequency to four times daily on the Jakarta–Singapore route reflects the growing confidence in the TransNusa brand. Approval for the increased frequency from Singapore’s Changi Airport also supports the company’s international network development,” Bernard said in a statement on Monday (10/12), 2026.
This move also realizes the expansion strategy TransNusa has pursued since mid-year. Last July, Bernard revealed that the airline was seeking additional flight slots at Changi Airport to increase the Jakarta–Singapore frequency from three to five flights daily.
According to Bernard, TransNusa’s strategy for the second half of 2026 focuses more on optimizing existing routes rather than opening numerous new ones amidst unstable economic conditions.
“We do not want to open many new routes while the economy is unbalanced. We are focusing on the routes we already operate and will increase their frequency,” Bernard said.
To support this expansion, TransNusa is also preparing to add to its fleet. The company previously targeted the arrival of four additional aircraft by the end of 2026 to support the growth of its capacity and flight network. Thus, increasing the frequency of the Jakarta–Singapore service to four flights daily is part of the company’s effort to expand carrying capacity on this existing route.
TransNusa operates this service using Airbus A320 aircraft, flying from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to Terminal 4 at Changi Airport. This increase in frequency offers passengers a wider range of scheduling options while simultaneously strengthening TransNusa’s capacity to serve one of its international routes.
In addition to increasing flight capacity, TransNusa is expanding services across its international network. One such initiative is the “Premium Plus” cabin product for the Melbourne–Bali route, scheduled to launch on October 19, 2026. [sources/special photo]
