THE Indonesian Goverment, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a travel advisory or Travel Advisory for Indonesian people who intend to travel to China, related to the spread of the corona virus or 2019-nCoV.
According to the Acting Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Teuku Faizasyah said for Indonesian citizens who were in the country to reconsider their travel plans to China as well as wisely in filtering and responding to information circulating about the 2019-nCoV virus outbreak.
“Regarding the spread of the corona virus outbreak in the bamboo curtain country, Faizasyah said the Foreign Ministry had not noted any travel bans or travel bans to China. Its nature is more to the advice of citizens who want or have planned to go to China to increase caution and of course avoid areas based on open information that are clearly exposed or potentially exposed to the corona virus,” he said.
He also suggested that Indonesian citizens who have travel plans, including to China, be able to access destination location information through the SafeTravel application made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Through this application it can be seen the extent to which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends those who want to travel,” he explained. He added that the information in the application was compiled based on clear criteria and open information so that it could be justified.
In the application, the Hubei province in China, the province where Wuhan is located, is said to be red, meaning that the Indonesian people cannot visit because of health threats.
While other areas in China are yellow, which means it should not be visited. Based on information from the Chinese National Health Commission on Sunday (1/26) afternoon, the total number of patients infected with the corona virus reached 2,762 people, while the total number of patients suspected of being infected or suspected reached 5,794 people.
