PRESIDENT JOKOWI: SHOW THE WORLD THAT BALI ISLAND IS VERY SAFE TO VISIT

INDONESIA’S President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invites the public to show the world that the island of Bali is a very safe tourist destination to visit.

President Jokowi, when opening the 43rd Bali Arts Festival, Saturday (6/12), said the main key to Bali’s economic recovery is the nation’s ability to handle the pandemic by being disciplined with health protocols, implementing rapid and massive COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as implementing of restrictions on community activities based on micro banjars and traditional villages in Bali to prevent transmission.

“We show the world that Bali is a very safe tourist destination to visit,” he said, as shown in a video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat on Saturday.

The President appreciated the efforts of the local government, artists, and all Balinese people who are able to continue to create, express art, and continue to develop aesthetics and the noble traditions of Balinese culture while still implementing strict and measurable health protocols.

“The holding of the 43rd Bali Arts Festival which involves thousands of artists from various communities with strict and measurable health protocols, is proof that the pandemic is not a barrier for Balinese people to continue to be creative,” said the President.

President Jokowi explained that the holding of the 43rd Bali Arts Festival is proof that under the pressure of a very heavy pandemic, the creativity and productivity of the Balinese people continue to grow and come up with new ways to continue to color the world’s art scene.

In this event, the Bali Arts Festival has the theme ‘Purna Jiwa: Prananing Wana Kerthi’ which means that the complete soul is the breath of the tree of life. The President greatly appreciated the choice of the theme.

“I also appreciate the choice of themes that invites the breeding of flora and fauna and all biodiversity, spreading the spirit of conservation, and living in harmony with nature to heal civilization from the pandemic,” he stated.

The Head of State said that literary legacies, which reminded of the coming of the epidemic and how to prevent it, as well as how to adapt, need to be reopened and developed to take lessons to deal with the current pandemic. [antaranews]
