NOT even only MICE event organizers who need to comply with the health protocols during the pandemic, MICE event participants also have to observe the New Normal policies. There is no question that everyone hopes we can soon do away with the COVID-19 pandemic so MICE events can take place normally.
While we’re waiting for the situation to improve, it would be best that we as MICE event participants also prepare ourselves to adapt to the New Normal policies when attending exhibitions, meetings, conferences, and other MICE activities during the pandemic.
So, MICE event participants’ to-do list during the pandemic.: (1). Bringing our own health protocol necessities, bring a hand sanitizer, wear a mask and bring a spare one, and prepare an alcohol or a disinfectant that you can bring along, (2). Making sure we’re healthy, we must ensure that we attend MICE events in our best condition. Aside from risking our safety, participating in activities while being sick also puts other people’s health in danger.
Whereas for number (3). Arriving early, as we know, attending MICE events during the pandemic entails a set of health protocols that must be observed, like temperature checking or even antigen swab testing. Therefore, it would be wise to arrive early in order to avoid waiting in line. (4). Following the rules, normally, there are rules mandated by event organizers either in a meeting, conference, or exhibition. For instance, you are not allowed to eat or drink inside a meeting room, or you can only walk across an exhibition venue in one direction.
The same goes for numbers (5). Pay attention to activity durations, while attending meetings or exhibitions, we must not stay indoors for too long. During a break in a meeting for instance, it would be best to go outside and inhale a breath of fresh air.
Meanwhile, MICE venue managers need to ensure each room has sufficient air ventilation and circulation. Venue managers can also equip the rooms with HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorbing) filters.
As MICE event attendees, we must contribute to the events’ success in complying with the health protocols. This is important in order to prevent MICE events from becoming COVID-19 clusters. A little hustle goes a long way. [sources/photo special]
