INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been running for 1.5 years, has forced many people, including musicians, to collaborate and innovate in creating works.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in an online press conference, Sunday (8/15) said the COVID-19 pandemic has made all of us, including musicians, adapt and collaborate. This is the spirit of young people, to give the best for the nation. I am sure that we will rise again, Indonesia will become a united country in facing economic challenges and the pandemic, and we will also continue to collaborate with young people.
“Music itself has become a symbol of the independence and creativity of young Indonesians. Especially now that music has developed into one of the creative economic sectors that the Ministry of Tourism facilitates its development,” he added.
Furthermore, Sandiaga said the pandemic made the conditions for artists including musicians more challenging than before. To that end, Sandiaga through his ministry has also collaborated with the government and various parties to revive creative industries such as performing arts and music in Indonesia.
“Of course, we are concerned because there are so many challenges. At the beginning of the year, musicians have felt the economic pressure because they can’t perform, etc. We have collaborated with associations, reported to the president, and finally got the opportunity to innovate to set a zone (in the arts sector). performances). For the green zone, we can hold offline (performances) with health protocols, the yellow zone is held in a hybrid manner, and the red zone is fully held online,” explained Minister Sandiaga.
“Now, the creativity of musicians is not blocked by various challenges, they are even more creative. I have even found many of the best works of Indonesian musicians who are better than before the pandemic, and this is a spirit, considering that music has a great contribution to the country, music is the identity of the nation. Hopefully later, Indonesian music can reach the world. We also encourage dangdut to be included in the UNESCO (intangible heritage) list,” he added.
Sandiaga added that the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia this year is expected to be a signal of the awakening of the nation that has struggled for more than 1.5 years against the pandemic and economic challenges.
“This shows the spirit to rise, move, prove that we are a great nation. Win against COVID, together we can do it,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
