THE MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, moved quickly to make a strategy to reduce the price of plane tickets so that they are affordable for all people. This strategy responds to the potential for soaring ticket prices as the use of masks is relaxed and the COVID-19 test requirements are lifted for travellers.
“The key to making this ticket price affordable is to increase the number of flights, because based on the very limited number of flights, the seat capacity or the number of seats is also very limited,” said Sandiaga, Tuesday (5/24).
He explained that the Tourism Ministry was talking with several airlines to increase the frequency of flights. Hopefully, this can make ticket prices more affordable, and present various promos.
According to the him, this opportunity is being explored. Including the addition of new lines and routes that contribute to the number of passengers.
“The Ministry of Tourism is coordinating with the Ministry of Transportation. Including embracing airlines. So, that at least (flights) will return to what it was before the pandemic,” Sandiaga finished. [photo special]
